He was transferred from a conscript camp on 10 Jan 1863. Wounded during the siege on Vicksburg, Mississippi. Captured at Vicksburg on 4 Jul 1863. Paroled on 7 Jul 1863. Absent on furlough 14 Jul to 8 Nov 1863. Did not return to service. He was dropped as a deserter on 26 Mar 1864. Post war: He died on 7 Mar 1896 in Van Zandt County.
