Round container of stave construction. Staves are held together by two one-inch birch bands. Four extended staves form the feet, and two extending at top form the support for the flat cover. All exterior parts are gracefully and masterfully carved with acanthus style leaves and florals.

Marks: Eldrisvalsdatter (?) Syvergaard 1861 painted on bottom. E.S.D.S. (?) 1861 painted on inside cover.

Garmo family brought the ambar to western North Dakota sometime before 1892
