Sick in General Field Hospital at Chattanooga, Tennessee. Missing in Battle of New Hope Church, Georgia, on 27 May 1864. He had been wounded and captured and carried to a prison hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, where he died of his wounds on 22 Jun 1864. Buried in Cemetery at Marietta, Georgia; section A, grave 105.
