Enlisted for three years on 22 Dec 1862 at Madison, Wisconsin, and mustered there the same day. Private. Assigned as wagoner with the division supply team. Taken prisoner at La Vergne, Tennessee, 29 Dec 1862. Paroled at St. Louis, 31 Dec 1862. Wounded, shot through his body, at Resaca, Georgia, 14 May 1864, and died at hospital the next day.
