Commissioned 8 Jul 1862 at Madison, Wisconsin, rank effective 9 Sep 1862. Captain and Company Commander. Company mustered on 25 Oct 1862 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Left sick at Helena, Arkansas, 13 Aug 1863. Died of disease in officers’ hospital at Memphis, Tennessee, 9 Sep 1863. Buried at Forest Hill cemetery, Madison; stone reads “16 Sep 1863 aged 48 y, 8 d”.
