WI 12th Inf Co G. Born in 1826. Civil War: Age 35. Entered the service in 1861. Corporal. Discharged in 1865. Post war: In December 1882, while living in De Smet, Kingsbury County, South Dakota, he was granted a pension of $8 a month because of debility of his eyes. Died at age 80 of paralysis on 8 Nov 1906 at Erwin, South Dakota. Buried in Spirit Lake township, Kingsbury County, lot 83, grave 4. Private. Promoted to Corporal 1 Aug 1862. Promoted to Sergeant 25 Aug 1864. Wounded in his right shoulder on 27 Apr 1863 in the assault on Port Hudson. Post war: Granted a pension of $8 a month because of that shoulder wound.
