Born “Daniel Gitlesen Eie” on 21 Feb 1835 at Haugesund, Norway, son of Gitle Danielsen Eie and Eli Knudsdatter Eie. He came to America with his parents and three siblings on “Venice”, which sailed from Gothenburg, Sweden, and arrived in Boston on 31 Jul 1839. They came to Muskego Township, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Civil War: He died 26 Oct 1863 and is buried in Muskego Lutheran Cemetery. Sources: (Naeseth ’39-98)
