Temporarily assigned to the Wisconsin 24th Infantry on 13 Feb 1865. Transferred to Company I of the Wisconsin 13th Infantry on 10 Jun 1865. Mustered out 24 Nov 1865. Enlisted for three years on 4 Jan 1864 at Stockholm and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 16 Mar 1864. Private. Joined I Company at McDonalds Station, Tennessee. Captured by the enemy at New Hope Church, Georgia, 27 May 1864. Died of diarrhea on 31 Aug 1864 in Andersonville Prison. Buried there in grave 7355. A woman named Catherine Grund of Stockholm, Pepin County, was granted a widow’s pension of $8 a month.
