US 16th Inf, 2nd Battalion, Co A. Born 13 Feb 1842 in Opdal, Norway. Civil War: Age 20. Entered service on 12 Mar 1862. Private. Discharged 12 Mar 1865 at Lookout Mountain, Vermont. Post war: Died at Carthage, South Dakota, on 1 Aug 1917 and is buried in the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery there, block F, lot 2, grave 4. Enlisted 20 Aug 1862 at Perry. Mustered 25 Oct 1862 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Private. Died of chronic diarrhea on 18 Jan 1864 at Little Rock, Arkansas. MN 1st Battalion Infantry, Co E. Residence: near Mule Lake, Hartland township, Freeborn County, Minnesota. Born in Norway. Civil War: Age 44. Enrolled 16 Mar 1865. Mustered the same day. Private. Discharged from the service with his company, 14 Jul 1865. Post war: “Guttromson, Gullik” of Hartland, Freeborn County, Minnesota, in Nov 1882, was granted a pension of $6 a month because of disease of abdominal viscera. Died 12 Dec 1894.
