They went to La Grange Township, Walworth County, Wisconsin. His father died four months after their arrival. His mother and her nine children moved to Primrose Township, Dane County, about 1855. Civil War: Farmer. Unmarried. Age 19. Blue eyes, light hair, light complexion, 5’10”, slim build, Enlisted for three years on 14 Aug 1862 at Primrose. Mustered 14 Oct 1862 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sergeant. Reduced to ranks on 21 Jan 1865. Discharged for disability on 22 May 1865 while he was a patient at Harvey US Hospital at Madison, Wisconsin. Post war: On 4 Feb 1867, he applied for additional bounty of $100. He was then living in Moscow, Iowa County, Wisconsin. Married to Sophia Fjeld. Two children, Marie Gunhild and Haldor. Holland died in 1872 in Iowa County and was buried in York Lutheran Cemetery, Blanchardville, Green County, Wisconsin. His widow, Siscella Hammer (Cecilia Johannesdatter Feigum), listed him as ‘Holloque, Trom”, a Second Lieutenant.
