Mustered 25 Oct 1862 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Private. Left sick at Helena, Arkansas, 13 Aug 1863. He had suffered sun stroke. Discharged from the hospital at Madison, Wisconsin, 9 Nov 1863, and rejoined his regiment 27 Nov 1863. Discharged from the service for disability on 12 Mar 1864 at Little Rock, Arkansas. Post war: Married on 14 Jan 1870 to Ellen Haug (1849-1894). Eleven children. Lived on a farm in Mayville, Traill County, North Dakota, beginning in 1879. He died at his farm home on 22 Jan 1919. This soldier’s father, Jorgen, died in 1846 and his mother, Asberg, married Jorgen Olsen Wrolstad, who adopted Lars and gave him the Wrolstad name. Civil War: Age 19. Unmarried. Enlisted for three years on 4 Nov 1861 at Scandinavia and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 20 Dec 1861. Private. Became unfit for service and was discharged for disease from Mississippi River Island No. 10 on 21 May 1862. Post war: Lived at Iola, Wisconsin. He died there in 1902. Seriously wounded in the battle of Stone's River, 31 Dec 1862, a musket ball shattering a bone in his left arm. He was sent to a hospital in Nashville, and then to the Navy hospital in Chicago. Transferred to Veteran Reserve Corps 15 Jan 1864. Mustered out on 20 Dec 1864. Post war: Lived in Willmar, Minnesota. He was married in 1868 to Laura Gustava Halberg, a native of Christiania. Norway. They had six children. Granted a pension of $6 a month because of the gun shot wound to his left arm.
