Enlisted for three years on 19 Oct 1861 at Cambridge and mustered at Madison, Wisconsin, 13 Feb 1862. Private. Sick in hospital at Bowling Green, Kentucky 4 Nov 1862, sent to Convalescent Center at Murfreesboro, Tennessee, 17 May 1863. Sick in Murfreesboro 19 Sep 1863. Suffered a head wound near Atlanta, Georgia, on 17 Aug 1864, and sent to a hospital. Mustered out 13 Feb 1865. Entered on the Roll of Honor of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Division, 20th Army Corps.
